Burdinberri

A bit about us

Experience

In 1984 we started our journey focused on high quality machining. Today, almost 40 years later, we are still in full development in sectors of great technological demand, such as aeronautics, the automotive industry and the naval industry

Effectiveness

Our history as an aeronautical tooling company (engineering, machining and fine-tuning) is a guarantee of our ability to adapt to the needs of our customers and their project at all times.

Our work process, flexibility in manufacturing, agility and punctuality in the delivery of every project also endorse the trust that our customers place in us.

Quality as a hallmark

At Burdinberri, quality is a priority in all production processes.

We currently have a quality management system endorsed by the ISO 9001:2015 y UNE-EN 9100:2018 standards.

Involvement

In order to remain at the forefront of our main sectors, we are associated with the Basque Aerospace Cluster and the Basque Maritime Forum.

Well located

Located in the Ali-Gobeo Industrial Estate, in the northern area of Vitoria-Gasteiz.

Burdinberri is located at the centre of a major logistics hub and directly connected to the Madrid-Paris link roads, surrounded by more than 7 million square metres dedicated to logistics and 65 km from the port of Bilbao.

Timeline

Launch of UMSA

DWithin the new reality following the industrial crisis of 1982, UMSA was created to meet the needs of the automotive industry. In such a demanding sector, UMSA stood out historically for its quality and versatility.

1984

Start in the automotive sector

Launch of Burdin-Lan

Burdin-Lan is a clear example of the type of company that supplies our surrounding infrastructure. Founded from scratch by tireless workers, it found its niche of activity in the large-scale machining and supply of mechanical sub-assemblies for machinery and equipment.

1991

Oriented towards large-scale machining and equipment

Relocation of Burdin-Lan to larger facilities and change of name to Burdinberri

The success of Burdin-Lan quickly mean that their facilities were small and forced the company’s founders to relocate a building more in line with their business expectations. The name and brand were renewed and the company began to manufacture large tools for the demanding aeronautical sector, without abandoning the existing lines of business.

1996

Start in the aeronautical sector

Relocation by UMSA to Jundiz, to new, larger facilities

Like Burdinberri, the success of UMSA also required a relocation to renovated facilities. This change, accompanied by new investments in machinery, strengthened the competitiveness of the company.

2000

Continuing in the automotive sector

Launch of Loxin

Burdinberri set up Loxin to provide automated solutions and robotic facilities for the tools it develops and integrates.

2002

Developing capacity and knowledge

Launch of Khegal

Burdinberri actively supported the creation of this company, which is geared towards manufacturing aircraft parts by machining. Today Khegal is a leading SME in terms of its capacity, quality and pioneering in the application of technologies for Industry 4.0.

2004

Manufacturing of aircraft parts

Launch of Aerotecnic del Sur

With our constant self-commitment and by listening to the needs of our customers, Burdinberri has invested heavily in Aeropolis, to support the development of a leading company as a supplier to the Andalusian aerospace sector.

2006

Pushing our boundaries

Integration of UMSA and Burdinberri

The strategic plan of both companies converged, leading to a joint venture involving the two. While maintaining their corporate identities, there were clear two-way synergies that allowed both to grow together.

2007

Apart from the automotive sector, it also comprises the aeronautical and naval sector (investment in machinery for this project).

Launch of Reductia Aerospace

In light of the new A-350XWB Airbus model, Burdinberri jointly founded REDUCTIA AEROSPACE with three industrial partners. The capacity of the Reductia Group allowed Burdinberri to access large-scale international aeronautical projects.

2008

Aimed at large-scale aeronautical projects

Expansion of Burdinberri

Taking into account ongoing projects and medium-term forecasts, Burdinberrri has expanded its facilities to almost double its manufacturing capacity by investing in large and modern machinery. These investments include a bridge machine with a 30 metre bed, making real and continuous 5-axis machining of parts up to 25,000 x 5,600 x 2,700 mm possible.

2014

Installation of a machine with a 30 m bed

Expansion of UMSA

In its constant eagerness to revitalise and improve, the Burdinberri group continued investing to renew its machinery and expand its facilities.

2018

Investment in new machinery
